I was surprised to read on Facebook that well-known comedian Kin-chan, Kinichi Hagimoto has been accepted into college at 74 years old! And I was even more surprised to hear of Silicon Valley resident Barbara Beskind, who works as a designer for a design consulting company, at age 92! Two years ago she spent two months completing her resume and applied for the job. She says, “Age is not an obstacle.”
My life changed significantly when I was 50 years old. It has been two full years since I became a counselor. My dream is to have a counseling office in Miami, and now I am progressing little by little towards the dream. I’m hopeful and enjoying my life, but I always think that I’m already over 50 so I don’t have enough time. I have to hurry.
I’m still only 53 years old. I’ve realized that I have plenty of time to do what I want to do. There is no need to hurry. Barbara Beskind also says, “Life is an adventure. I hope that a change will happen, and I accept it.”
I will do what I can do now, without hurrying. I’ve accepted that I can’t do everything now: something have to wait. And no matter what happens, I will keep on doing so. I am looking forward to the future, and what it will bring.
